architectural composition

The China Post Stamp Museum stands at No. 6, Jianguomen Gongyuan, the prime location of East Chang'an Street, Beijing. It is a national "industry leading Museum" under the construction of China Post Group Corporation. The museum has 7500 square meters of exhibition hall, 6000 square meters of cultural relics warehouse, nearly 10000 pieces of postal relics, hundreds of millions of Chinese and foreign postage tickets and other collections. The museum has seven main exhibition areas, including "original communication", "ancient post", "modern post", "contemporary post", "stamp exhibition hall", "special exhibition hall" and "treasure hall".

The exhibition hall on the fourth floor presents the audience with thousands of selected square stamps, hundreds of selected postal relics, dozens of classic original stamps and rare world-famous treasures. China Post Stamp Museum comprehensively, systematically, authoritatively and vividly represents the historical changes, new development and imagination of a better future of post in China for more than 3000 years, and accurately represents the distinctive industry and era characteristics of China Post.

Stamp Exhibition Hall

The huge couplet of "the ancient road of post horse roaring west wind is beneficial to all the people, and the wild geese flying in the air are spreading the message and feeling all over the world" is hung on both sides of the hall on the first floor of China Post Stamp Museum. On the second floor, facing each other, is the gold-plated character of "China Stamp Museum" written by Mr. Wu Zuoren, the master of traditional Chinese painting. China Stamp Museum is divided into three exhibition halls, including the main exhibition hall, the special exhibition hall and the treasure hall, displaying Chinese and foreign stamps and the original pictures of stamps. The main exhibition hall and special exhibition hall are on the second floor, and the treasure hall is located in the central exhibition hall on the fourth floor.

In the main exhibition hall of stamps, there are five parts with a line-up of 104 stamps. The stamps and some foreign stamps issued by the competent departments of post in various historical periods of China are displayed in the series.

Main exhibition hall

The first part is about the stamps of Qing Dynasty.

From the Dalong stamp of the customs, Cixi birthday stamp, to the red stamp stamp and Panlong stamp issued after the establishment of the post of the Qing Dynasty, the stamp tells the humiliating history of modern China in a semi feudal and semi colonial society from its unique perspective.

The second part is stamps of the Republic of China.

It shows some stamps issued by Nanjing Provisional Government, Beijing government and Nanjing National Government in three stages of the Republic of China. From the stamps with the pictures of Sun Yat-sen and Yuan Shikai, the first set of London sailing pictures to the stamps with the words "the Empire of China", from the stamps with various restricted areas to the gold and silver yuan tickets, it truly reflects the turbulent political situation and society at that time, and also reflects the gradual diversification of the types of stamps in this period It reflects the development of postal industry and the mass foundation of philatelic activities in the period of the Republic of China.

The third part is stamps during the revolutionary war.

It mainly shows the stamps issued by the revolutionary bases during the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation. The design of Anti Japanese War stamps takes propaganda and encouragement as the theme, which shows that the Communist Party of China attaches great importance to national interests and unites the whole people to resist Japan. During the period of the liberation war, stamps were framed by the six administrative regions that issued stamps, reflecting the history of the people's postal service and the people's army.

The fourth part is the new China Stamp Collection (up to 2006).

It includes all the stamps of Jite, cultural revolution, serial number, JT and year number. New China stamps have a wide range of subjects, rich contents and exquisite printing. It is not difficult to see the progress of our great motherland through this stamp.

The fifth part is foreign stamps.

On display are stamps from 42 countries, which are exchanged by the China Stamp Museum on behalf of China Post and the member states of UPU. These stamps have distinctive features and exquisite printing, which not only reflects the local customs of foreign countries, but also is a good teacher and friend for our stamps and other members of the stamp family to learn from each other.
